The Material Resources blog is no longer being updated! However, you can follow me on Twitter, drop in to my Posterous where I occasionally post things and of course check out IOM3's superb new website (which I manage) at www.iom3.org On the latter you'll find dozens of new articles every month by materials, minerals and mining professionals, as well as a host of other essential information on IOM3 services and communities, and improved features including forums and content alerts. Look forward to seeing you there!

Best wishes

A podcast about materials, science and art

If you've ever wondered what a painting sounds like, or how your sense of touch might change the way you see a work of art, check out this Tate Modern podcast in which a team from the Materials Library explores the material nature of art from a scientific and sensory point of view. Features include the sound inside a sculpture, fractal patterns in Jackson Pollock’s paintings, rapid prototyping and how pure elements of sounds are altered by changes in materials.
